چکیده

This paper introduces a Modified Error Data Normalized Step Size (MEDNSS) algorithm in which time varying step size depends upon normalization of both error and data vector. An Adaptive Noise Canceller (ANC) is used to improve the system performance in the presence of signal leakage components or signal crosstalk. This ANC consists of three microphones and two adaptive filters that automatically adjust their filter coefficients by using MEDNSS algorithm. The first adaptive filter cancels the signal leakage components and second adaptive filter cancels the noise. The performance of the MEDNSS algorithm is analyzed, simulated and compared to the Error Data Normalized Step Size (EDNSS) algorithm in stationary and non-stationary environments using different noise power levels. Computer simulation results demonstrate the significant improvements of the MEDNSS algorithm over the EDNSS algorithm in minimizing the signal distortion, Excess Mean Square Error (EMSE) and low misadjustment factor.

The Wavelet Transform-Domain LMS Adaptive Filter Algorithm with Variable Step-Size

The wavelet transform-domain least-mean square (WTDLMS) algorithm uses the self-orthogonalizing technique to improve the convergence performance of LMS. In WTDLMS algorithm, the trade-off between the steady-state error and the convergence rate is obtained by the fixed step-size. In this paper, the WTDLMS adaptive algorithm with variable step-size (VSS) is established. The step-size in each subf...

Acoustic Echo and Noise Cancellation System for Hand- Free Telecommunication using Variable Step Size Algorithms

In this paper, acoustic echo cancellation with doubletalk detection system for a hand-free telecommunication system is implemented using Matlab. Here adaptive noise canceller with blind source separation (ANC-BSS) system is proposed to remove both background noise and far-end speaker echo signal in presence of double-talk. During the absence of double-talk, far-end speaker echo signal is cancel...

A Band-independent Variable Step Size Proportionate Normalized Subband Adaptive Filter Algorithm

Proportionate-type normalized suband adaptive filter (PNSAF-type) algorithms are very attractive choices for echo cancellation. To further obtain both fast convergence rate and low steady-state error, in this paper, a variable step size (VSS) version of the presented improved PNSAF (IPNSAF) algorithm is proposed by minimizing the square of the noise-free a posterior subband error signals. A non...
